TOKYO IS DREAMING World Premiere
The wait is over! Our little film Tokyo Is Dreaming is having its world premiere at the 5th annual Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival. The film will be screened at Maltings Theatre, Saturday, September 19th, 8 p.m.
For details on the 2009 Berwick film festival program lineup, you can download a festival guide here.
“With passing allusions to the likes of Duchamp, Léger, Man Ray, Fischinger and Eggeling stippling the action, this is an astute and assured tableau that's compellingly counterpointed by a score by Calexico's John Convertino.”

Painted Bride Art Center
On December 13, the Painted Bird Art Center will be presenting ATYPICAL: ARTIST SHOWCASE, which will feature "Neon Gothic" performed by Bethany Formica Bender and Scott McPheeters.
"Neon Gothic" is a dance inspired by the southern gothic writers Flannery O’Conner, Mitch Cullin, and John Kennedy Toole——involving two delusional twins who discover a dead body and try to figure out what to do with it. This is a darkly comic piece which will eventually turn into an evening length work where multiple dancers play the same character.
Although Mitch won't be able to attend the performance, he is honored to have influenced this performance, as well as being mentioned in the same sentence as O'Conner and Toole. Hopefully Lo-Vi will get some footage of the dance to add to the website for everyone to see.
For those in the Philadelphia area who might want to attend, more info can be found at www.paintedbride.org

TOKYO IS DREAMING US Premiere
We were absolutely blown away by the turn out and response to the No Festivals Required screening of TOKYO IS DREAMING at the Phoenix Art Museum. Program director Steve Weiss did a fantastic job bringing this film to the museum, and we just can't thank him enough for his support.
Not for a second did we imagine the venue would fill beyond capacity, nor were we prepared for seeing our film anew in the company of so many interested people (and on a big screen, too!). We may have seemed a little flustered by the whole experience, but it was a wonderful experience all the same. And for those who we didn't get a chance to speak with at greater length, we hope to do so in the future.
